Hi,
Firstly, many thanks for this distribution.
I downloaded Amibian today to run on my new RPi3 and read in your readme file that you can use a command called "bootpicooff" to switch off the splash screen and enable fast booting in uae4arm.
This doesn't seem to be working for me and when I search the files on the RPi I can't find either bootpicooff, bootpicoff or bootpicon anywhere, I assume they should be in /usr/local/bin?
Could I have a copy of the bootpicooff script please, or could you tell me how to do it manually? I'd really like the pi to boot up as quickly as possible.
Many Thanks,
James
Ah, OK! I will make sure to avoid doing that then. Thanks for your help!
It started uae4arm as part of the booting process, in the beginning of it. With uae4arm satarted that way, the pi didnt completely finish the boot process untill you exit the emulator. So if you would use the shutdown option within the emulator, you wouldn't be doing a safe shutdown and it would be like unplugging the pi in mid bootup.
Hi Gunnar,
Thanks for the reply. I am looking into various ways of speeding up boot and performance based on generic articles I found on the web. Was there anything in particular in your fast boot configuration that was causing corruption that I should try to avoid?
That option was removed. It caused a risk of sdcard corruption.
So... A little digging later and I found /etc/init.d/00startnow which I edited to comment out every line so it does nothing, removing the bootpic.
Does anyone have any other tips on how to speed up boot into uae?
