Problems loading a disk after restart

Hi.

Just loaded up Amibian after a bit of a break. I booted an A500 basic config and it loads the disk in hand screen.

I press F12 to load a disk and click resume and it loads.

When I quit by pressing F12, restart, then load a new disk and resume, it just goes to a black screen and nothing happens.

What am I doing wrong?

Also, will Amibian run ipf images? I have a couple and only tried one but it didn't work.
