Hi! I've written about this before but I think I have been dancing around the issue.. to be more specific...
I would like to emulate an Amiga 2000, with the ability to use Video Toaster and run Lightwave. (That probably isn't emulated yet but I want the config to have the ability) Obviously 640 x 400 is not the resolution for that, and I have seen much better. How do I do this? Does anyone have an image configured I could use?
Thanks!
The Video Toaster is a hardware / software combo. The toaster card would have to be emulated too. Then what about video in / out? You might want to look at purely software solutions AVS, etc. unless you hear of someone working on a "Soft Toaster." It would be a lot of work, plus possible copyright issues, though I don't know that NewTek still exists. Video Toaster had a lot of effects done in analog and digital hardware (Overlay, analog hue/saturation/recoloring, chroma keying, mixing, fading) I am not expecting someone to take the time to recreate that in legacy software (Lots of work when other easier higher quality solutions exist now), but then they said the Amiga couldn't be emulated, too... If you were able to install the software a lot of stuff would still not work. I have the software around somewhere but no card. I had planned to buy a used card at one time for my A2000. I wish you luck but would not invest a lot of energy in it unless you know something I don't, or a serious project is started. Analog fades could be converted to pixel fades or digital recoloring...hmmm...OpenGL for luminence type effect?? ??? But what about analog cross fading...???
The associated software and helper software should still work though... Anyways good luck... What was special with the toaster was the mixing of analog video signal tweaking it + digital overlay. Have you seen Sling Studio?
Cheers... AmigaMax Are you seeing falling sheep yet? ;-) (Toaster effect)
