I'm new to raspbian pi and managed to get Amibian working, but now it says filesystem is is read-only. What happend?

Can you read/write to your SD card on another linux pc?Usually when the SD card goes into "Write Only" mode, it means the card might have died. It's the last step before the thing completely fails, and allows you to at least get your files off of it.
There are tools out there to try to reformat the card in case it is not dead, but if you try to format the card and it fails but the files are still readable, it's dead.
If you're using Windows, BOOTICE is a good tool to rewrite the partition table, but if it works you will effectively be reformatting the SD card (losing all of your files).
